A blog for my old and new photo galleries
I’ve been putting up photos for friends and family for the past decade, and created a number of differently designed pages for them over the years. A while ago I started to work on bringing the photos together in a new photoblog. I had first considered adding the old photo galleries to martinhofmann.net here.
But then I decided to organize all the old photos in a new, separate WordPress blog with a gallery plug-in and a nice overview homepage. I will continue to use if for new photo galleries but keep the actual blogging here. The photoblog is still a bit of a work in progress but it’s getting there. I like the layout from the StudioPress template that gives it all a consistent look & feel.
It was fun to go through all the old HTML-pages with my different amateur design approaches. As much as I posted the photos for Lori, my friends and family to see, half the fun was definitely in fiddling around with HTML.

Eldred King Woodlands in March
It was fun taking a walk with my father-in-law in the Eldred King Woodlands north of Stouffville. Ontario is beautiful. I took a couple snapshots and then experimented with the settings in Lightroom. The results can be seen below.
My favourite photo from our Costa Rica vacation
Not sure what these two monkeys were upset about (while sharing a banana) but it made for a great photo opportunity. I took this photo during a boat tour in Palo Verde national park. More photos from the tour are available here.

The Robin in our Garden
One of my favourite things to do in the last couple weeks or so has been to watch the robin who hangs out in our garden all the time. He doesn’t seem to mind sharing the backyard with Lori and me, even when I make noise using the barbecue. The only time he doesn’t like being here is when orange cat shows up on her daily patrol through the neighbourhood backyards. We also had a blue jay come by a few times. But never when I had the camera within reach. Hope he comes back again too.
